It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing that US Grappling won’t be running tournaments going forward. Over more than 15 years and 170 events, US Grappling tournaments brought us on the road to dozens of different venues in cities from Orlando to Chicago. We pioneered large-scale submission-only tournaments, and we created a system to improve the competitor experience, all the way from the registration to the referees. Most of all, we made friends with you—grapplers from all over the country—and we were privileged to work with some amazing people who understood that we were doing something unique, helping to drive the quality of events forward and into the 21st century.
If you have good memories of US Grappling, we’d love to hear your stories and see your pictures in the comments. We would also appreciate it if you would consider purchasing something that says US Grappling from our friends at Toro.
As always, we want what’s best for the grappling community, and we’ll continue to work on improving the scene on an individual level. You’ll see our efforts in projects like BJJ News and BJJ Path. As per our tradition, we will meet up for Thai food when it’s safe to do so.
Thank you all for your amazing support and love over the years! We’ll see you out on the mats one day soon.
Wishing everyone health and kimuras,
Andrew, Brian, Chrissy, John and the entire US Grappling crew
